Fight Against Food Waste - Crawley Memorial Gardens
We are launching our second Food Waste Prevention campaign on 6th September in Crawley Memorial Gardens
To help launch our events, we are delighted to share the news that MasterChef Champion 2018 Kenny Tutt will be at each event to cook up a storm demonstrating how some of the most frequently wasted food items can be turned into delicious meals. Both events will be held within a marquee, with a stage kitchen cooking demonstration.
There will be a variety of other information and stands and our own will focus on food waste prevention, single use plastic alternatives and home composting. We will also be supported by UK Harvest, who rescue food from local growers/supermarkets and redistribute it.
Refill will provide a stall promoting the national practical tap water campaign that aims to make refilling your bottle as easy, convenient and cheap as possible by introducing Refill Stations on every street. This project also reduces litter by removing the need for single use plastic bottles, whilst helping us to stay hydrated in this warm weather, and encouraging more people to support local businesses.
Additionally, Sussex Smoothie Bikes will provide the opportunity to make your own smoothie from fruit/vegetables using pedal power. Come and enjoy the fun!
